Dave- I run Toyo 175-70 r13 on my 63 Spyder and absolutely love them! although

going to a taller tire will make your speedo more accurate (I'm guessing your speedo

is reading 8% higher than it should right now, as that's how much mine was off before

I fixed that), I'm afraid you probably wont like how your car would handle now that

your used to such a short tire. I know I hated how loosey goosey my current 63 spyder

felt when it had stock tires on it as compared to my 62 spyder (which also had

22.6 diameter tires on it). By using the shorter tire, you are simultaneously increasing

the tire stiffness and decreasing the available leverage to "jack" the rear axle. It

makes a huge difference in handling on an early. The downside to this tire size, as you

no doubt already know, is that you are really winding it out to stay with traffic on the

freeway- mine had a 3.55-1 diff in it and it seemed to me like my rpms were about

3800 to 4000 to do 70 (or at least to keep up with traffic anyways!).

I fixed that by putting in a 3.08 diff, and to get my speedo accurate, used a 20 tooth

speedo gear. Now my speedometer is dead on perfect, and my rpm's to go 70

   are 3000-3100.
