<VV> idle rattle in the 66' Corsa

A bit more. What I found on removal was two of the six flywheel bolts were
next to each other and under torque, and the machined face that fits to the
crank flange had not been completely cleaned up. No damage to crank flange,
however. All i know is I felt the vibration driving it, and the noise, which
went away when I pressed on the clutch. I was very careful to install the
new Dale Mfg. flywheel with new bolts and that new closer tolerance ring
from Clarks with a rebuilt clutch plate and disc and it has worked correct.
I also had found the pressure plate had been shimmed with plain washers,
evidently to provide room for a thicker disc, something I did not have to do
when I installed known source components (I used a Fort Wayne Clutch kit).

If you do not know the source of the flywheel, anyone could have done the
bolting and not done it right. Clarks sells a bolt kit for earlies, and I
think that is what I found. Mark Durham
