Think so, but never had to do that in 49 years of Vair ownership!

Anybody else have a favorite method?

Thanks Mike, That's what Smitty thought also. I had one get stuck on a 69 we had
but that one blew the oil filter, guess some in getting by to relieve some of
the pressure. I just took a look and looks like on the GB I have to take the
lower shroud and the thermostat door box off to get clearance, is that correct?
Charlie

Charlie, I doubt that the sender went bad, cheap way to test is to get a
mechanical Gage and observe the pressure from the eng compartment.  Also the
press relief spring may be not be functioning properly.

Just got our 65 Greenbrier on the road after a two year plus restoration.
Prior

to letting it sit for the two years (I started it periodically) the Clarks oil

pressure gauge read about 25 lbs and would vary pressure from idle to driving.

Now it reads about 50 and doesn't seem to move. Could the sender have gone bad

(4 year old gauge)? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Charlie
