Higher than necessary oil pressure increases parasitic drag and increases oil temperature. For racing application use 10 psi per thousand engine RPM; 10 psi at idle and low speed, 20 psi at 2000 RPM, 30 psi at 3000 RPM and so on. More is not advantageous for street use. Best to use high volume oil pumps only on highly worn engines.
