Besides, it was GM's poor handling of the situation that really made it news 
?

Had GM responded the same as VW, things would have been different, if only 
that the Corvair would have have been "blamed" for its innovations.

Safety would still have been an issue, but Nadir's claim to fame would not 
have been exaggerated as it was ?
