 I don't know how many times I've scared the bejeezus out of my wife when we get a rental car, I go for the 'clutch', and try to stomp the brake pedal to the floor! 
All of my cars have the proper number of pedals, three.

The worst part is when you are cruising up to the stoplight, and you push  

down on the non-existent clutch pedal - only to hit the left edge of the 

wide  Powerglide brake pedal - CHIRP! go the tires. Who? Me?
