Warren is my kinda guy. Earlies are cool, but the earliers
are even cooler! Today I was working on my "the most early
Corvair on the Planet" 1960 700 sedan at the Body Shop and
was marveling at all of the interesting "different" stuff
that this car has that the other earliers in my Cave
Collection don't have. Look for a feature article in the
CORSA Communique somewhere down the line. The biggest
revelation is the fact that the dual horns are mounted
high up behind the headlight buckets and the "Horn Slots"
are just slots in the front panel. They are completely
non-functional! Must be that Chevy made the change to move
the horns but decided to use up the supply of first-design
front panels in production. I didn't know this until today
when I was able to disect one of three remaining "Slot
Cars".

And to add some Music trivia to this post: The official
earlies theme song has to be "Alley Oop" by the Hollywood
Argyles. It was a #1 Hit Song in July 1960. "Look at that
Caveman Go!!!" - Caveman Pete
