After screwing up the second one--that's $100 down the drain--I decided to see if i couldn't find a way to get a metal one made.  A friend's brother owns a machine shop and after looking at the plastic one he says he can CNC map it an churn them out.  I don't yet have a price but I was wondering how many others would want one.  I don't intend to make a profit.  A positive response will not commit you to anything just give me an idea so I can negotiate with him. 
P.S. Can any one send a a picture of a stock one so we can investigate how they were put together wiht the goal of finding a better way than those impossible rivets with the washers that refuse to go on.
