Thanks Grant,  I'll try advancing the timing further, it's right about 12
degrees BTDC right now I think.  The other carb possibility I guess is the
power enrichment valves (These carbs have them) but I'm pretty certain I
made sure they were good and clear already with compressed air.

I'm pretty sure it's wanting more fuel.. maybe I'll try going back to the
52 jets.  It seems to run fine while it's on choke, the trouble starts when
they are about 80-90% open.  Pumping the pedal as fast as I could when
taking off from a stop seemed to eliminate the problem.... but I guess
maybe that (multiple accel pump squirts) wasn't actually affecting it.
