<VV> 66 Coupe Roof Rail Weatherstrip

Clark's PN 7914 does not have the molded in miter above the vent window.  What has been the communities experience using Clarks weatherstrip to replicate the miter joint?  Do you cut Clark's molding to fabricate the miter joint or does the weatherstrip fit into the retainer in one piece and still function properly?
