You need to get a feeler gauge between the piston and the cylinder.wall. I  
would get the top off the motor to check.  If bad , you will be doing  
cylinder/piston work anyhow. If it is off by .010 or more , you can probably  
feel/see it by grabbing a piston skirt. Also look at rods for play at either 
end  .
