Hi Bruce,

Unlike earlier and later years, there was no optional suspension available
in '64 on the cars.  I believe the only difference was in spring rates
between the converts, coupes, and sedans.  I would suspect frozen or rusty
shocks, as the '64 suspension certainly was nothing you would consider
"quite stiff" by any contemporary standards.
