Hugo,
You're attached to the '62 sedan, so it sounds like making it a somewhat unique Spyder is the way to go. Then do what you will with the others.

???Not run well???. How? Seat of pants feel is better with clutch, but Powerglides should run well, usually keep up with 4 speeds.
