Ken,

If by "Fish in a barrel" you mean how easy that procedure should be, I wish 
you'd been here to do it. All I succeeded in doing with the heat was to melt the 
rubber bushing around the rod and when it cooled it was that much harder to 
break it loose. I ended up cutting the bolt just behing the front nut, between 
there and the big washer, and then driving it out the back. And that bushing 
wouldn't let go for nothin'. I finally was able to pry the front washer off and 
then drove the rod out, but man, what a job. Especially in 98 degree heat with 
only a small window fan. Let me out of Florida!! ;-/)
